Former President Trump Speaks at North Carolina Republican Convention

Former President Donald Trump delivered keynote remarks at the 2021 North Carolina Republican Party Convention in the city of Greenville, which marked his second public speech since leaving office in January 2021. The former president touted his administration’s record, specifically on the COVID-19 vaccine development, the economy, and securing the U.S.-Mexico border. During his remarks, he also criticized the Biden administration, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and Facebook. When addressing the 2020 election, President Trump referred to it as a “third world country election” and that it “was the crime of the century.”

Event organisers estimate that around 1,200 people attended the rally, which was the former President's first formal public appearance in months.
Donald Trump hints at fresh run for White House in 90-minute speech

Donald Trump has hinted he will run again for President in 2024 during a vintage 90-minute speech at a Republican rally.

Jun. 7 - Trump used the speech at a North Carolina Republican campaign event to attack infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci, peddle false claims that he really won the 2020 Presidential election and denounce China.

Trump falsely said his defeat in last year’s election was the “the crime of the century” and said “we’re going to lay the groundwork to make sure Republicans once again carry the great state of North Carolina in a number, a year I look very much forward to – 2024”.

“Our movement is far from over,” he said.

“In fact, it is just getting started.”

Event organisers estimate that around 1,200 people attended the rally, which was the former President’s first formal public appearance in months.

Trump has begun to tease his supporters about running for President again in 2024 and is expected to start holding more rallies in the lead-up to next years’ mid-term elections.
The former President has been vocal in telling the Republican party to only select candidates that have shown allegiance to him.

“The survival of America depends on our ability to elect Republicans at every level starting with the mid-terms next year,” he said.

Trump again repeated claims that Covid-19 originated in a Wuhan lab, a theory now not discounted by Joe Biden, and said China should pay $10 trillion in reparations to countries across the globe for the pandemic.
He also hit out at Fauci, a common target for Trump-supporting Republicans, saying that he was “not a great doctor” and that he has been “wrong on every issue”.

Trump also aimed his attacks at Biden who he called “the most radical left-wing administration in history”.
“As we gather tonight our country is being destroyed before our very eyes,” he said.     source from

White House Daily Briefing
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki held a briefing on the Biden administration’s policy agenda. A variety of topics were discussed during the briefing, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, COVID-19 vaccine distribution, concerns with the supply chain, and talks with Russia. When asked about Facebook’s decision to suspend former President Trump from their platform for two years, Ms. Psaki said that it’s the responsibility of any media platform to “crackdown on disinformation,” later adding, “it feels pretty unlikely that the zebra is going to change his stripes over the next two years, we’ll see.” Joining the press secretary at the briefing was White House National Economic Director Brian Deese, who spoke about the economy and the recent jobs report.

June 03, 2021 • Press Briefings
Via Teleconference

MR. ZIENTS:  Good morning and thank you for joining us.  Today I will begin with an update both on our domestic and global efforts to defeat COVID-19.  We have here with us National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, who will join me in speaking about our next steps in our global COVID-19 response.  Then, Dr. Walensky will give an update on the state of the pandemic, and Dr. Fauci will discuss the latest science.  We’ll leave some time for Q&A at the end.

On his first full day in office, President Biden released a comprehensive strategy to marshal a whole-of-government wartime effort to defeat the pandemic.  We have spent each and every day of the last four and a half months executing against that strategy.  And today I want to provide an update on the progress we are making: first, on our efforts to get Americans vaccinated as quickly, efficiently, and equitably as possible; and second, on our efforts to help combat the pandemic globally.

Here at home, we have built a best-in-class vaccination program.  Already 63 percent of adult Americans have received at least one shot, and 52 percent of adult Americans are fully vaccinated.  Already 12 states have 70 percent of adults with at least one shot.  That’s an important milestone.  And 28 states and the District of Columbia have fully vaccinated 50 percent or more of their adult population.  As a result, in communities and states across the country, the pandemic is in retreat...

MS. PSAKI:  All right.  I have a couple of items for all of you at the top, and some charts.  We love charts in here.

In today’s encouraging report, initial claims for unemployment insurance fell to their lowest level and below 400,000 for the first time since the pandemic hit.  This is just the latest evidence that President Biden’s economic strategy and vaccination plans are working.  While weekly data can be volatile, since taking office, average claims have fallen by about 50 percent, which you can see in this chart, over the course of time, and by more than 100,000 in last — in the last month alone.

And earlier this week, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development — the OECD, as it’s commonly known — one of the leading bodies in analyzing economic growth around the world, increased their projection for U.S. economic growth this year to 6.9 percent due to the strength of the American Rescue Plan and our pandemic response to get Americans vaccinated and lift our economy out of the crises that we inherited.

In fact, the United States is the only major industrialized nation to have its growth projection through 2025 revised upward.

We also learned earlier this week that manufacturing activity in May was near its highest level in more than 15 years...     more

Psaki calls Fauci ‘undeniable asset’ after Chinese lab leak emails

Jun. 3 - ...A preliminary World Health Organization study controlled by China this year concluded the virus likely emerged naturally.

The lab-release theory gained traction recently after the Wall Street Journal reported that three employees at the Wuhan Institute of Virology fell so ill that they were hospitalized in November 2019 — just before the first reported COVID-19 cases.

The article cited “a previously undisclosed U.S. intelligence report.”

A subsequent US intelligence community statement released to the public said one US spy agency “leans more toward” the lab leak theory, but that two others lean toward the explanation that the virus emerged naturally in animals.

Fauci’s credibility was called into question this week when his work emails from last year — released to news outlets via the Freedom of Information Act — revealed his communications with the director of the Chinese CDC and with the leader of a nonprofit that contracted with the Wuhan lab.

The emails also revealed that a prominent researcher informed him in January 2020 that they believed the virus genome had signs of lab manipulation.

Peter Daszak, head of the EcoHealth Alliance, which used a $3.4 million US grant to do research at the Wuhan lab, wrote to Fauci in April 2020 that he was thankful that Fauci was publicly knocking the possibility of a lab leak...     quoted from

Reporter to Psaki: Does Biden Believe That Putin Is Testing Him Ahead Of Summit With Recent Hacks?

June 3 - ...Q Just to put a fine point on this very quickly: Is it President Biden’s view that President Putin can stop these attacks, these hacks, from occurring if he wanted to?

MS. PSAKI: Well, I would say the President — President Biden certainly thinks that President Putin and the Russian government has a role to play in stopping and preventing these attacks; hence, it’s a — it will be a topic of discussion when they meet in two weeks.

Q Does the President believe that Vladimir Putin is testing him right now, ahead of the summit?

MS. PSAKI: I’m not going to give any further analysis on that other than to tell you that our view is that when there are criminal entities within a country, they certainly have a responsibility, and it is a role that the government can play. And, again, that will be a discussion at the summit...     quoted from

Okay, a couple of items for all of you at the top.  The President is running a little bit late too, so we’ll have a hard out at about five or ten after, but we’ll keep you honest, for those of you who are joining his event.

Today, the Biden-Harris administration launched the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program, a first-of-its-kind water assistance program that will expand access to more affordable water, and help low-income households affected by the COVID-19 pandemic pay their water and wastewater bills, avoid shutoffs, and support household water system reconnections related to non-payment.  $166.6 million, or 15 percent of allocated program funding, is being made immediately available to grantees, which will then, of course, be distributed in communities.

In total, $1.1 billion will be available through grants, including $500 million in American Rescue Plan funding.

The President believes that having access to affordable, clean, and safe drinking water is essential to everybody’s health and wellbeing.

Biden to discuss number of recent cyber attacks with Putin, - Psaki

President Biden will state to his Russian colleague that the “concealment of criminal organizations”, which harms the U.S., is unacceptable for Washington

June 3 - The number of recent cyberattacks heading against American and international organizations will become one of the topics for discussion at the upcoming summit of the U.S. and Russian presidents as Voice of America reported citing White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

According to her, all recent cyberattacks, including the attack on Colonial pipeline, will enter the list of questions that the president will discuss with President Putin at the summit”. She also noted that the team of Biden cannot confirm for 100% the origin of one of the recent attacks against Brazilian JBS.

“This attack reminds me about the importance of enhancing cybersecurity for organizations in the private sector and the readiness of the companies to this threat,” Psaki stated.

The spokesperson did not exclude that the U.S. can respond to these actions. It can happen if the guilt of Russia is proved as a result of the inner investigation held by the administration. She added that the White House “directly contacts the Russians, expressing concern over the reports” on the Russian origin of hackers.

“Obviously, that the number of attacks through ransomware increases with time. It is a growing threat to the private sector and vital infrastructure. For other countries…similar concerns exist that will be discussed during the president’s visit to Europe. This question will be discussed during the whole visit of President Biden to the European continent,” Psaki stated.
"I can assure you that we raise the issue at the highest governmental levels. It will be discussed during tet-a-tet or direct talks between President Putin and President Biden that will take place in a few weeks,”
the White House representative promised.

It was reported that the meeting of U.S. President Joe Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will take place in Geneva on June 16. Relevant information was confirmed by the Kremlin and the White House.

Putin and Biden are expected to discuss bilateral relations, strategic stability, as well as topical issues of the international order, the fight against the pandemic and the settlement of regional conflicts.

Earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden confirmed that he expects to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future. The place of the summit was unknown.     source from

Joe Biden honours victims on the anniversary of the Tulsa race massacre
US President Joe Biden marks Tulsa race massacre with an emotional speech

June 2 - US President Joe Biden marked the 100th anniversary of a massacre that destroyed a thriving black community in Tulsa, declaring he had "come to fill the silence" about one of the nation's darkest — and long-suppressed — moments of racial violence.

"Some injustices are so heinous, so horrific, so grievous, they cannot be buried, no matter how hard people try," Mr Biden said.
"Only with truth can come healing."

Mr Biden's commemoration of the deaths of hundreds of black people killed by a white mob a century ago in the Oklahoma city came amid the current national reckoning on racial justice.

"Just because history is silent, it does not mean that it did not take place," Mr Biden said.
"Hell was unleashed. Literal hell was unleashed.

"We can't just choose what we want to know, and not what we should know," Mr Biden added.
"I come here to help fill the silence, because in silence, wounds deepen"...     more

MS. JEAN-PIERRE:  All right.  Got a few things for you all at the top.

Today in Tulsa, the President will tour the Greenwood Cultural Center, meet with surviving members of the community, and deliver remarks to commemorate the Tulsa Race Massacre.

One hundred years ago, the thriving Black community of Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was ruthlessly attacked by a violent, white supremacist mob.  An estimated 300 Black Americans were killed, and another 10,000 were left destitute and homeless.

The President is honored to have the opportunity to listen to them and learn from the survivors of the community.  He plans to convey his heartfelt gratitude for their bravery in sharing the stories of the trauma and violence that was wrought on them and their families.  And — and frankly, he plans to discuss his shared sense of frustration and pain that justice has been denied to these families for so long.

As the President will explain in his remarks, he is traveling to Tulsa to shine a light on what happened and to make sure America knows the story in full.  He will explain that we need to know our history — from the original sin of slavery, through the Tulsa Race Massacre, to racial discrimination in housing — in order to build common ground to truly repair and rebuild...     more

Biden suspends Trump-era oil and gas leases in Alaska refuge

June 2 - U.S. President Joe Biden's administration on Tuesday said it would suspend oil and gas leases that were handed out in an Alaska wildlife refuge during the final days of the Trump administration pending an environmental review.

The action reverses one of former President Donald Trump's signature efforts to expand fossil fuel development in the United States, and delivers a setback to the Alaskan state government which had hoped opening the enormous refuge would help revive its declining oil industry.

Trump's Interior Department sold the leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) in January over the objections of environmentalists and indigenous groups. During his campaign, Biden had pledged to protect the 19.6 million-acre pristine habitat for polar bears, caribou and migratory birds.

White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy said Biden was "grateful for the prompt action by the Department of the Interior," and said the Trump administration's hastily-held auction of oil and gas leases in the refuge "could have changed the character of this special place forever."

Biden's Interior Department said it had notified the leaseholders, which include an Alaska state agency.

The review, which will examine "legal deficiencies" in the previous administration's environmental analysis of leasing in ANWR, will determine whether the leases would stand, be voided, or be subject to mitigation measures, the statement said.

The ANWR leasing program is already the subject of lawsuits by environmental and indigenous groups that allege the Trump administration violated federal law by performing a faulty environmental analysis that failed to adequately consider its impact on wildlife and native people...     more

Under Investigation: China and the Virus (2021)
The world was told the Coronavirus leaped from animals to humans at a market in China – but many scientists now fear it leaked from a lab. Experts reveal the new research techniques that put us all at risk.
Scientists are seen working inside the Wuhan lab in February 2017. The laboratory, known for its expertise in studying viruses, is now thought a possible source for the COVID-19 outbreak - China, meanwhile, insists that the virus simply mutated and passed naturally from animals to humans

China warns Biden-ordered probe into Wuhan lab leak theory could be America's 'Waterloo' and compares new COVID investigation to search for WMDs in Iraq

June 1 - ...Even Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the WHO, said that the visit was inconclusive, adding that 'all hypotheses are open' and warranted future study.

The authors, however, attacked on Sunday 'the strong and tyrannical demand that the WHO should serve the political interests of the US.'

They added: 'This is playing political games to hijack science.'

China accused scientists who give the 'lab leak' theory credibility of 'trimming their sails according to the political circumstances'.

'The presumption of guilt imposed by the US against the Wuhan Institute of Virology has gone in opposite directions with the conventional cognition and normal traceability methods of the scientific community,' they said.

The op ed pointed out that the U.S. intelligence community was catastrophically wrong on the issue of WMD in the early 2000s, insisting that the country's leaders 'have lost their credibility at the very beginning of this race'.

'It will be difficult for the US to do what it did 18 years ago when Washington fabricated evidence of Iraq possessing WMDs to fool the international community,' they write.

'So far, the US intelligence agencies can ask only the US media to help spread those rumors anonymously because they do not have any real proof that can be shared with the whole world. This traditional strategy of a frame-up is powerless in today's environment...     quoted from

Remarks by President Biden at the 153rd National Memorial Day Observance

May 31, 2021 • Speeches and RemarksArlington National Cemetery
Arlington, Virginia

THE PRESIDENT:  Madam Vice President, Secretary Austin, Secretary McDonough, General Milley, Gold Star families, my fellow Americans — we’re gathered at this sacred place in this solemn hour to engage in the most fundamental of undertakings: the rite of remembrance.

We remember those who gave their all in the service of America, in the service of freedom, in the service of justice.  We remember their sacrifice, their valor, and their grace.  We remember their smiles; their loves; their laughter; their essential, vibrant, and transcendent humanity.

For while we stand amid monuments of stone, we must never forget that each of these markers, for those known and unknown, here at Arlington and far beyond represent a precious life: a son, a daughter, a mother, a spouse, a brother, a sister, a friend, a neighbor.

To those who mourn a loved one today: Jill and I have some idea how you’re feeling.  Our losses are not the same, but that black hole you feel in your chest — as if it’s going to suck you into it — we get.

I know the incredible pride you felt seeing your loved one wear the uniform of our country, and the pride they felt wearing it.

Our son Beau’s service in the Delaware Army National Guard unit, the year he spent deployed in Iraq, was one of the things that he was most proud of in life.

Yesterday marked the anniversary of his death.  And it’s a hard time — a hard time of year for me and our family, just like it is for so many of you.  It can hurt to remember, but the hurt is how we feel and how we heal...     more
