“I am the president-elect, but will not be president until next year. COVID-19 does not respect dates on the calendar, it is accelerating right now. Urgent action is needed today, now, by the current administration,” Biden said in his tweet.

Nov. 14 - Amid the surge in coronavirus (Covid-19) infections in the United States, President-elect Joe Biden tweeted that urgent action is needed now by the current administration as he would take over next year.

“I am the president-elect, but will not be president until next year. COVID-19 does not respect dates on the calendar, it is accelerating right now. Urgent action is needed today, now, by the current administration,” Biden said in his tweet.

He said in his subsequent tweet that the coronavirus crisis “demands a robust and immediate federal response which has been woefully lacking”.

Donald Trump finally hints at election loss, talks about Covid lockdown, vaccine


This is the closest Donald Trump has come to acknowledging that President-elect Joe Biden could succeed him.

Nov. 14 - In the first public remarks since Joe Biden was widely projected the winner last Saturday, Donald Trump insisted on Friday that he would never put the US into a Covid-19 lockdown, but said “time will tell” if another administration takes office in January and does so.

This is the closest he has come to acknowledging that President-elect Joe Biden could succeed him.

President Trump News Conference on Operation Warp Speed
President Trump provided an update on his administration’s Operation Warp Speed COVID-19 vaccine initiative. The president said the vaccine would be ready for distribution in the coming weeks to high-risk Americans, frontline workers and the elderly. He added that the vaccine would be available to the general population as soon as April 2020. The president also discussed the economy and coronavirus restrictions stating, “this administration will not go, under any circumstances, to a lockdown.” He was joined in the White House Rose Garden by Vice President Pence, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and the heads of Operation Warp Speed.
